As a result of working on these projects we have gained a wide range of
experience in real-time design methods such as state machine modelling and
in the design of real-time operating systems or real-time executives.
We have experience of designing task schedulers and writing interrupt
handlers for systems based on microprocessors and PCs. In particular
we have many year's experience developing real-time systems utilising
the Intel 8051 family and Motorola 6800 series of microprocessors.
The majority of these real-time systems have required working at hardware
level hence we have a sound knowledge of software/firmware and hardware
integration. The necessity to interface with other external products,
for example data from a GPS, is understood and we have the ability to
test these interfaces in the absence of the product by writing PC based
simulators.
We have experience of interfacing with peripheral devices such as sensors
and control devices. Consequently we have developed an understanding of
control systems and are experienced at displaying real-time data in graphical
and other formats.
